President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday night held what is said to be a security meeting with the leadership of the National Assembly over the security situation in Benue State and other parts of the country.
The meeting at the instance of President Buhari started at about 7.30 pm at the Presidential Villa in Abuja had in attendance, the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Honourable Yakubu Dogara.
The Presidency explained via its Twitter handle on Sunday that President Buhari called the meeting to brief the National Assembly leadership on efforts by the Federal Government in securing Benue and other states across the country.
Both Chambers of the National Assembly had deployed their Committees on Security to join in pursuing addressing the security challenges in Beneue state and other part of middle belt owing to frequent breaches at the instance of farmers and herdsmen in the affected states.
