As part of efforts to stem the tide of fuel scarcity across the country, the Federal Government on Tuesday met with major oil marketers in the country in Nigeria’s capital, Abuja.
Tuesday’s meeting, came at a time Nigerians are still counting the costs of the fuel crisis which disrupted the plans of millions for the Yuletide, was held inside the Presidential Villa.
Those in attendance include the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari; Minister of State for Petroleum, Ibe Kachikwu; Group Managing Director of the NNPC, Maikanti Baru, the PENGASSAN Leadership, and the Director-General of Department of State Services, among others.
No decision was taken dorung the meeting which drew into the night, just as marketers reportedly presented their grievances against the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), bothering on the backlog of debt the agency owed them.
The meeting according to reports was at the instance of Buhari who is said to have directed a through investigations into the cause of the fuel scarcity which has been raging since the past three weeks.
