Unbelievable though it seems, Diet Coke, and lots of it, has been the key to her long life, a 104-year-old Theresa Rowley has said.

Theresa Rowley shares the craving for Diet Coke with the United States’ President, Donald Trump might who had earlier owned up to being addicted to the drink to keep fit.

Rowley, who lives in the Sentinel Pointe Retirement Community in Grand Rapids, Michigan told television station WZZM-TV she drinks at least one can of here Diet Coke a day and couldn’t wait to get her hands on more.

“I drink it because I like it,” Rowley said. “I’m going shopping Wednesday, and I need more Diet Coke. I have a bag full of empty Diet Coke cans that I need to return to buy more Diet Coke.”

Trump also has a long-standing habit of drinking Diet Coke.

Back in 2012, he tweeted that although Diet Coke is “garbage” and “tricks your body into eating more,” he said he would continue to enjoy his guilty pleasure. A New York Times story said he drinks 12 Diet Cokes a day.

Rowley, who turned 104 on Jan. 1, said no one is more surprised than her that she reached that age.

“I’m surprised that I’m 104,” Rowley told WZZM-TV. “It just doesn’t seem like I should be that old. When I was 100, I thought I’d never be 104; I thought I’d pass away by that time but it just didn’t happen. Then I turn 101, and nothing happens.”

Rowley said she was born in Illinois in 1914 before moving to North Dakota and then Michigan. She has lived in the retirement home for the past 15 years, per the television station.

Jaclyn London, the nutrition director at the Good Housekeeping Institute, told Good Housekeeping magazine said that despite Rowley’s longevity, it’s probably not a good idea to start a Diet Coke regiment.

“Scientific consensus has yet to find a direct, indisputable link between diet beverages and harmful health effects,” London told Good Housekeeping. “On the flip side, calories from added sugars – especially those found in sugary beverages like regular soda, juice, and even coffee drinks – are linked to a slew of chronic diseases as well as obesity. Bottom line: If your current eating pattern works for you – and helps you get to 104 years on the planet – keep it up.”
