President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf of Liberia
President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf of Liberia has given an executive order for the setting up of a joint presidential transition team.
A statement from the Liberia presidency noted that the establishment of the team was for a  proper and orderly transfer of executive power.
“The team shall include the minister of state for presidential affairs, minister of justice, minister of foreign affairs, the minister of finance and development planning, governor of the central bank of Liberia, minister of internal affairs, minister of defense and the director of the executive protection service,” the statement added.
Liberians are currently awaiting result from the presidential run-off on Tuesday.
The run-off is between a retired soccer star George Weah, 51, and Vice President Joseph Boakai.
Weah won the first round on Oct. 10, beating Vice President Boakai, 73, by a 38 percent to 30 percent margin.
They’re battling to succeed Sirleaf, who’s due to step down in January.
