Police Hunt For Two Suspects That Killed A Pastor In Atlanta Hotel

Gwinnett County police in Atlanta  are looking to speak with two people seen in the lobby of a Duluth-area extended stay hotel before a deadly shooting.

A total of four people were seen at the InTown Suites Hotel on Steve Reynolds Boulevard the night Ivan Pastor-Vital, 31, of Doraville, was killed in a third-floor room, according to police. Two, a man and a woman, were reportedly seen on surveillance footage running from the hotel with two young children in tow after the gunshots rang out.

They were identified Thursday as Jonathan Gonzalez, 26, and Geradly Gomez, 24. Investigators have released surveillance video of two other men seen at the hotel on Aug. 29 just before the shooting. — “After reviewing additional surveillance footage from the InTown Suites on the night of the homicide, the lead detective assigned to the case has identified two additional people who may be participants in the homicide of Ivan Pastor-Vital,” police spokeswoman Cpl. Michele Pihera said in a news release.

Investigators are asking for the public’s help to identify the two men from the video. They would also like to speak with Gonzalez and Gomez, both of whom have outstanding warrants unrelated to the homicide. — Gomez is wanted on a drug possession charge, and Gonzalez is accused of violating his probation related to a misdemeanor traffic offense, according to police.

In surveillance video obtained by police, Gonzalez and Gomez were seen running toward Pleasant Hill Road with armfuls of personal belongings. The children accompanying them are between 1 and 3 years old, and at least one appeared to be nude, Pihera said. — They still have not been located as of Thursday afternoon.
